Husky & Sami Day
Spend a day in one of the largest husky parks beyond the Arctic Circle! Feel the speed of a husky team, cuddle the friendliest dogs in the North, meet reindeer and discover how the Sami, the indigenous people of the Kola Peninsula, have lived in the tundra for centuries.
Program of the tour
- Pickup from your hotel in Murmansk at around 10 a.m. The exact time depends on the park's schedule, your guide will confirm it the day before. The drive takes about 2.5 hours.
- Husky sledding through the snowy forest (weather permitting). A professional musher drives the sled, you just enjoy the ride!
- Meet the huskies. Hear the story of the Siberian husky, hug the dogs and take funny photos with them.
- Reindeer. Feed the reindeer and take photos with them. If you like, you can also go reindeer sledding for an extra fee.
- Sami settlement. Visit a recreated Sami camp, learn about the life and reindeer-herding traditions of the northern people and try on national costumes.
- Arctic lunch: creamy fish soup, a venison dish and unlimited hot tea.
- Back to Murmansk at around 6 p.m.
