About Teriberka
Teriberka is one of the oldest villages on the Kola Peninsula and the most famous place on the Russian Arctic coast — the famous film 'Leviathan' was shot here. Here the tundra meets the Barents Sea, the waves roll black stones on the beaches, and the sea stays open all winter. It is a real edge of the world — and one of the most photogenic places in the whole North!
Program of the tour
- Pickup from your hotel in Murmansk at around 9 a.m. The start time may change because of the weather, your guide will tell you the day before.
- Across the tundra. On the way to Teriberka we stop for photos of the endless tundra, where not a single tree grows.
- The ship graveyard. Old wooden fishing boats that have stayed on the shore of Teriberka for decades.
- The Barents Sea beach with its famous giant swings and the Traveller's Bench.
- Teriberka Nature Park. In winter we get to the ocean coast by a sled behind a snowmobile (if there is enough snow). Walk to the 'Dragon Eggs' beach with its round black stones, the Dragon's Lair and the waterfall among red cliffs.
- Lunch in a seaside restaurant (paid on the spot). Try king crab and other Barents Sea delicacies if you like.
- Back to your hotel in Murmansk in the evening. The whole trip takes 8-10 hours.
